General Dentistry

At Dental on Cambridge, we believe that prevention is a much better option than cure! The key to good prevention is maintenance, as common dental problems, such as gum disease and dental caries, often don’t cause pain or discomfort to patients until there is an emergency. Without regular maintenance, these dental problems, can result in more expensive, and extensive dental treatment (such as root canal therapy, crowns or extractions) than may have been required with regular check ups.

We recommend 6 monthly dental visits to ensure earlier diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, or better yet prevention altogether. Your 6 month preventative check-up at with Alex at Dental on Cambridge will involve the following:

-          A thorough mouth examination

-          Photos of your teeth

-          X-rays or scans as required

-          A thorough clean of your teeth, including flossing and application of fluoride

-          Discussion of appropriate home care, such as brushing or flossing techniques

-          A thorough explanation of your current dental health and future dental needs

If there are any immediate concerns, Alex will discuss the diagnosis and all treatment options available to you in easy-to-understand language. He will ensure you understand the pros and cons of all treatments and will ensure we’re able to arrange suitable follow up visits.
